September 10th

We have spent the first couple weeks of school getting to know each other and practicing our new first grade expectations.

Some things we did this week:
  • Practice just right reading spots
  • Spent time getting to know our reading partners
  • Learned how to play "Loon Squeeze" in math
  • Wrote "I Like" books
  • Began our author study on Mo Willems
Important dates:
  • Brown Bag share starts next week, please find more details inside your child's folder
  • Picture day is September 21st
  • Curriculum night is also Thursday, September 21st at 6:30pm
  • EARLY RELEASE on Wednesday, September 27th at 12:50
  • Correction-Picture makeup day is on Monday November 13th!
The Loons are in search of Monarch Caterpillars & STEM materials!
We would love to watch the metamorphosis in our classroom. If you see any please send them our way. They are black, white and yellow striped and can only be found on milkweed plants.

If you have any miscellaneous craft supplies and other items you are willing to part with please send them into school. We will use these to challenge your child's thinking all while learning to work with others. Things we would love:
  • Toilet paper rolls
  • Popsicle sticks
  • Straws
  • Toothpicks
  • Pipe cleaners
  • Q-tips
  • Coffee filters
  • Cupcake liners
  • Plastic cups
THANK YOU!

Check out all these readers in action!
