October 26th

Some things we did this week:

• Field trip to Coppal House Farm
• Finished our scarecrows
• Learned about using words that make sense in reading
• Using uppercase letters where they belong in writing 
• Learned about goosebumps
• STEAM with our buddies
• Worked on place value in math

October 19th

Some things we did this week:

• Learned about good reading habits
• Learned about tens and ones
• Played Penny Plate (they can teach you how to play at home!)
• Started a scarecrow project
• Continued working on personal narratives

October 12th

Some things we did this week:

• Worked on dropping "bad habits" in reading
• Began writing about our own real life stories
• Learned about fire dogs
• Participated in fire safety with the fire department and Sparky! 
• Met our fourth grade buddies
• Practiced ways to make 10 in math
• Learned about why things glow

• Who is your fourth grade buddy?
• What did you learn about fire safety?
• What are some bad habits you are dropping in reading?

Wanted:

The Loons are looking for pumpkins to do some pumpkin science. We are also in need of antibacterial hand soap to help us stop the spread of germs! If you are willing to help us with these things please send them in! Thank you!

• Finished up our own Mo Willems books
• Began learning our math routine
• Completed another science experiment
• Learned about accents and where they come from
• Practiced smoothing out our voice as we read
